Thin film coatings

Revolutionary thin film technology

Pronortec — New and improved thin film technology

Our client has successfully addressed the challenges of traditional thin film technologies (nano and conversion technologies), in particular how to achieve simultaneously better corrosion protection and paint adhesion on all metals with fewer steps and in an environmentally friendly way.

In 2020, a completely new thin film technology, Pronortec, was launched, based on the use of organic phosphorus with carbon and oxygen. Organic phosphorus is a vital part of our daily lives, occurring in our bones and DNA. It is non-toxic, like Pronortec.

Highly water-repellent polymer surface
Paint surfaces are porous and therefore moisture can penetrate through the paint layer over time, causing corrosion and paint peeling. The Pronortec thin film surface is highly water repellent (hydrophobic) and prevents moisture from penetrating the metal surface more effectively than other similar technologies. Corrosion protection and paint adhesion have been taken to a new level.

Five-step basic solution
– Pre-wash
– Two rinses
– Purified water rinsing
– Pronortec purified water solution (no heating and no final rinse)

Easy to use and maintain
– The sludge-free process forms the surface immediately and no final rinsing is required
– Simple maintenance measurements and dispensing with reliable automation
– Free choice of application method and speed
– Treatment can also be added at the end of the existing purified water line
– Chemical replacement interval 6–12 months

Efficient and economical quality in an environmentally friendly way
– The five-step basic solution offers better paint adhesion and corrosion protection than Silane or Zirconium treatment
– The six-step solution achieves a corrosivity category equivalent to ten steps of zinc phosphating
– Simplicity saves on equipment, energy, water, waste and maintenance
– Non-toxic and non-harmful (e.g. no heavy metals)

Traditional thin film technologies - Zirconium and Silane

We offer PASS NC2 (zirconium) and Orgasil (silane) passivating and thin film solutions. The advantages are low volumes of sludge and better environmental performance.
