In general, high-performance thin film pre-treatment solutions only work correctly and with high quality if purified water is used in the chemical solution and rinsing process (more information here). The quality of various, more traditional water-based washes can also be improved by using purified water where necessary. In Finland, the quality of tap water is not sufficient (tap water has an average conductivity of 192 µS/cm, compared to a maximum of 50 µS/cm for purified water).
